Robot vs Sloth is hiring!

Looking for a friendly, detail-oriented, outgoing person to join our retail team at Robot vs Sloth. Located in the heart of Pike Place Market, Robot vs Sloth focuses on art created by Seattle artist La Ru and a curated selection of local handmade artists. We are a small business, with a friendly, supportive, fast-paced atmosphere. We have 2 part-time positions open, mainly opening on weekends (16-24 hours, plus opportunities for more hours). Responsibilities include assisting customers, managing inventory, folding and tagging shirts, creating items like buttons and magnets, and ringing up sales/balancing a till.

Ideal Applicant:
+ preferably has at least 6 months retail or customer experience, but not required
+ is able to work opening, weekend shifts (8/8:30 - 4/4:30pm), plus a day or two during the week
+ has great communication skills and likes striking up conversations with strangers
+ is able to quickly make change and balance a til
+ is a team player and independent worker
+ is comfortable leading/directing crowds (and greeting customers when there's 50-100 people in the shop)
+ is punctual

Pay starts at $15/hr, with paid sick leave. We also offer health insurance (including dental and vision) which is available for employees working 30 hours/week (after the first 60 days, employer covers 75% of costs).

Shifts are 8 hours, with a 30 minute unpaid break. Opening shifts run 8/8:30am - 4/4:30pm and closing shifts are 12pm - 8pm.

Job tasks include:

  • Creating a friendly, positive environment for both customers and fellow teammates

  • Folding, tagging, and sku-ing inventory

  • Managing and stocking inventory

  • Creating buttons, magnets, kits, and more
